Έναρξη της Σχολής Βυζαντινής Μουσικής
Αγαπητοί μας,
Με την έναρξη των μαθημάτων της Νέας Χρονιάς 2016-2017, της Σχολής Βυζαντινής Μουσικής και Ψαλμωδίας της Εκκλησίας μας, απευθύνω θερμόν και εγκάρδιο πατρικό χαιρετισμό προς τους Δασκάλους, την Επιτροπή, τους μαθητές και τις μαθήτριες, τους φίλους και τους υποστηρικτές της Σχολής.
Εγγραφές-Αγιασμός
Οι εγγραφές θα αρχίσουν 9η Σεπτεμβρίου 2016 και τα μαθήματα θα αρχίσουν την Δευτέρα, 19 Σεπτεμβρίου 2016. Ο Αγιασμός θα τελεστεί την Δευτέρα, 10 Οκτωβρίου 2016, στις 7μ.μ. στον Καθεδρικό Ναό της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου, Wood Green Βορείου Λονδίνου υπό του Σεβασμιωτάτου Αρχιεπισκόπου κ. Γρηγορίου.
Μέρες & Ώρες Διδασκαλίας
Τα μαθήματα θα διδάσκονται κάθε βράδυ, Δευτέρα, Τρίτη, Τετάρτη και Πέμπτη μεταξύ 6.30-8 μ.μ. στους χώρους του Καθεδρικού Ναού της Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου, 21 Trinity Road, London N22 4LB. Όσοι επιθυμούν να παρακολουθήσουν τα μαθήματα να περάσουν από το γραφείο της Σχολής. Να δώσουν τα στοιχεία τους στην Γραμματέα της Σχολής κα. Ελένη Πρωτόπαπα και να πάρουν περισσότερες πληροφορίες Τηλ.020 8881 4740.
Μαθήματα της Βυζαντινής Μουσικής και Ψαλμωδίας θα διδάσκονται επίσης και στους πιο κάτω Ναούς:

- Καθεδρικός Ναός Αποστόλου Ανδρέου, Kentish Town, ΒΔ Λονδίνου
- Ιερός Ναός Αγίων Δώδεκα Αποστόλων, Hertfordshire, Βορείου Λονδίνου
- Ιερός Ναός Αγίου Παντελεήμονος, Harrow, ΒΔ Λονδίνου
- Ιερός Ναός Αγίου Νεκταρίου, Battersea, ΝΔ Λονδίνου
Εκτός Λονδίνου:
- Εις την μεγαλούπολη Birmingham τα μαθήματα Βυζαντινής Μουσικής γίνονται εις τους χώρους του Ναού Αγίας Τριάδος & Αποστόλου Λουκά, κάθε Σάββατο προσέρχονται δε και μαθητές από τις γειτονικές κοινότητες της περιοχής.
- Επίσης διδάσκεται η Βυζαντινή Μουσική και Ψαλμωδία εις τον Ιερό Ναό Αγίας Τριάδος Brighton.
Είναι περιττό να τονίσουμε την μεγάλη αξία της Βυζαντινής μουσικής και ψαλμωδίας και την παιδαγωγική της σπουδαιότητα για την ανάπλαση του χαρακτήρα του ανθρώπου και μάλιστα των παιδιών. Είμαστε βέβαιοι ότι οι Κληρικοί και οι Δάσκαλοι των Ελληνικών και Κατηχητικών Σχολείων θα ενθαρρύνουν τα παιδιά και τους νέους να παρακολουθήσουν τα μαθήματα βυζαντινής μουσικής για την πνευματική τους αναψυχή και ωφέλεια. Οι δε Γονείς, οι Επίτροποι και οι φίλοι της βυζαντινής μουσικής και ψαλμωδίας καλούνται να στηρίξουν και να βοηθήσουν ηθικά και υλικά το έργο της Σχολής.
Διεύθυνση
Την Διεύθυνση της Σχολής ανέλαβε ο Πρωτοψάλτης Βασίλειος Μαρουλλάς με αναπληρωτή τον κ. Δημήτρη Σκρέκα. Για τα περιφερειακά παραρτήματα, την διεύθυνση ανέλαβε ο κ. Π. Σταυρινίδης. Η διεύθυνση μαζί με τους μουσικοδιδάσκαλους θα διδάξει τα μαθήματα. Ο κ. Σκρέκας θα διδάξει το Τυπικό και Εισαγωγή στην Υμνολογία της Εκκλησίας μας.
Εύχομαι στους μαθητές υγεία και δύναμη για να παρακολουθήσετε με ενθουσιασμό τα μαθήματα και στους δασκάλους φώτιση και ενίσχυση από τον Κύριον ημών Ιησούν Χριστόν, για να εμπνεύσουν στους μαθητές και μαθήτριες την αγάπη για την βυζαντινή μουσική και ψαλμωδία. Και διατελώ μετά θερμών ευχών και της εν Κυρίω αγάπης και τιμής.

Commencement of Lessons at the School of Byzantine Music
Dearly Beloved in the Lord,
On the occasion of the beginning of lessons of the School of Byzantine Music and Chant of our Church, I am sending my fatherly warm greetings to the Teachers, the Committee, the students and the supporters of the School.
Registration-Blessing
Registration will commence on 9 September 2016 and the lessons will start on Monday, 19 September 2016. The Blessing with take place on Monday, 17 October 2016, at 7 pm at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God, Wood Green North London by His Eminence Archbishop Gregorios.
Days and Hours of Teaching
Lessons will be held every night in Greek and English, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 6:00-8:00 pm at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God, 21 Trinity Road, London N22 4LB. Whoever wishes to attend the lessons must first register at the School Office. They should give their details to the School Secretary, Mrs Helen Protopapa and get more information. Lessons of Byzantine Music and Chant will also be taught at the following Churches:
- Cathedral of All Saints, Camden Town, Northwest London
- Cathedral of St Andrew the Apostle, Kentish Town, Northwest London
- Church of Twelve Apostles, Hertfordshire, North London
- Church of Sts. Panteleimon and Paraskevi, Harrow Northwest London
- Church of St Nectarios, Battersea, Southwest London.
Outside London:
- In Birmingham, the lessons of Byzantine Music and Chant will be held at the Church of the Holy Trinity and St Luke the Apostle, every Saturday and every interested student from the adjacent territories is welcome to attend.
- Lessons will also be held at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Brighton.
The great pedagogical value of Byzantine music and chant for the edification of man and particularly of children cannot be overstressed. We are certain that the Priests of the Greek-Orthodox Community Schools will encourage children and the youth to attend the lessons of Byzantine Music and Chant for their own spiritual advancement and benefit. The Parents, the Committee Members and all the friends of the byzantine music and chant are called upon to support morally and financially the work of the School.
Management
The management of the School has been taken up by the Prime Chanter Mr Vassilios Maroullas with Mr Demetris Skrekas as second in command who will be teaching the Typikon and Introduction to the Hymnology of our Church. Mr P. Stavrinides will be responsible for all the subsidiary schools outside Greater London. We extend our warm congratulations to the Management and the teachers and wish them health and a blessed new school year.
I wish all students health and stamina to attend the lessons enthusiastically, and to the teachers enlightenment and strengthening from our Lord Jesus Christ so that they will inspire love for the byzantine music and chant to the students. And I remain with warm wishes and blessings in the Lord and honour.
